นักฟิสิกส์ทฤษฎี จากการที่เขาคิดค้นและสามารถอธิบายปรากฏการณ์โฟโตอิเล็กทริก และ "การทำประโยชน์แก่ฟิสิกส์ทฤษฎี" ทำให้เขารับรางวัลโนเบลสาขาฟิสิกส์ในปี พ.ศ. 2464ทฤษฎีสัมพัทธภาพ ทำให้เขาเป็นที่รู้จักไปทั่วโลกกับ E = mc² ได้รับทั้งรางวัลและการจารึกชื่อในประวัติศาสตร์ครั้งสำคัญของวงการวิทยาศาสตร์จากการค้นคว้า และยังมีผลงานทางวิทยาศาสตร์อีกมากมายที่เค้าได้สร่้างไว้
